keeps the largest of parasols in placeVery very heavy, (and that's with only water rather than a sand mixture), does the job of holding a 10ft x 10ft parasol in place. Can't fault , would recommend and a fair price

Best umbrella base everIt is well made, super stable and easy to use. Strong winds will not tip my large umbrella, but I still crank it down to protect it. I highly recommend this umbrella base.

Very sturdy baseWorks great for my cantilever umbrella. Works with the models that have foot pedals too, you just have to use the cross extension and the long screws instead of the ones that come with your umbrella. It was kind of breezy the day I assembled mine. No swaying (although I wouldn't suggest using your umbrella in the wind).

Sturdy, but filling with sand is a nightmareI'm using this with an 11-ft Hampton Bay umbrella I got from Home Depot. It holds the cantilever quite securely, although the ends of the cross-shaped base stick out about 3-inches past the base, so I may have to trim it down a bit.
While this design is well-thought-out in terms of how the pieces fit together, and it's quite easy to fill the sections with water, it is proving to be a multi-day project filling them with sand! The inner opening is much smaller than outer diameter of the seal would suggest -- closer to the size of a quarter whereas the outer portion is closer to that of a half-dollar coin. Unless your local hardware store has play sand that is perfectly dry, then you're in for one heck of a time trying to get the sand loaded. In my case, Home Depot had only paver sand in the outdoor area. As such, the sand was already damp and could not easily be poured. I literally spent 5 hours today loading a paint funnel with a sugar scoop, and one scoop at a time ram-rodding the sand into the base with a 1/2-inch dowel.
Considering each section takes almost two 40-lbs bags of sand, and each bag takes about 60 scoops to empty, and about 30-40 stroke of the dowel to get each scoop inside, you're looking at some serious tennis shoulder/elbow! Even after all this work, I was still only able to get 2 of the 4 sections filled, cursing the soul of whomever designed such a narrow aperture with each breath.Posted on

Umbrella isn't going anywhereUsed sand to fill the base. Didn't take too long once I found the right funnel. Easy to put together, does take two people.

Filling base will take timeI don't know if it is heavy duty or not but base seems adequate for purpose. Fill holes for sand/water are only about 1 inch in diameter. Dumping a 50 lb bag of sand through a 1 inch hole is tedious @ best & time consuming.

Good high quality umbrella baseWell made, easy to assemble and like that they can be filled with water. I was initially concerned it would not fit our base but it worked perfectly.

Works as advertisedThese are pretty fat. The weight behind each is pretty substantial. I’m not worried about our umbrella flying off or falling over anymore. Happy with the buy thus far. Material seems sturdy, not cheap feeling.

Great product, I used 350 pounds of wet sand, enough to support a cantilevers umbrellaWhat I like about these parasol weights is that you can empty them for easy removal/change of location without straining yourself. When empty they are quite light. When a new position for the parasol is selected the parasol base is put down and then the weights can be filled with wet sand. I used 350 pounds of wet sand, enough to support a cantilevers umbrellaThis avoids carrying heavy weights across the garden. In terms of Health ans Safety - it's a winner. So far with fairly medium winds blowing, the parasol has been firm and stable.

Better designThe design of the base is better than expected. Each piece is sitting right on each leg, but not between two legs in other designs. While its capacity is about doubled (350/lbs vs. 180lbs) than many others, the price is just a little higher. I did not bother to buy sands but easily settled all down with water filled in which is already heavy enough. The assembly is also simple and straight. Meanwhile, this set is higher than the others. As long as the umbrella is ok with that there should not be any issue.

Works greatI got a nice patio offset umbrella, so I have to buy a nice base for this umbrella. This base is not matching my umbrella perfectly. It is a litter bit higher for my umbrella and it caused the base can’t be closed tightly. But I like this base so I keep it. It has four separate large pieces and fills very easily with water. After filling, it becomes very heavy and does not leak. It feels super durable. Very thick and well made. My umbrella is stable with this base.

Great ProductsYou have to take the umbrella apart to install, so I sent it back and purchased the smaller one. The smaller one was very easy to install.
