You MUST fill with sand!This aerator does work. However, even when fully assembled with all the spiked fitted, unless rolling over a swamp it will not sink into the ground unless it has been filled with sand.
A few observations:
1) when fitting the spikes and when filling with sand, it helps if you place the cylinder into one of the plastic packing end pieces - the spikes are sharp!
2) Based on my experience, it is easier to pull than to push it across the lawn.
3) Following on from point 2 above, it would be even better if there was a "T bar" at the top of the handle.Posted on
