Perfect !When it rains heavily, water often leaks in through the cracks in the door. Especially this year, since it’s been raining a lot! After buying this awning, It really helps keep the rain from the door. It was a little difficult to assemble by myself, but I got there and it looks great. I am very pleased at the way it looks and it does not budge or wiggle in the wind.

great and affordable productRecently, I just built a lovely sunroom for my kids and our pets as playroom for them. too flat at top panel!Installed pretty easy for one person. have noticed after rain, that water stays on top panel. purchased two and both have same issue. not a problem with rain but this winter, I am afraid that I will have to sweep the top to clear snow. Purchased the brown model and I really like the way they shade windows. I used blue masking tape to hold parts together for assembly. Also I used clear silicone to seal all edges to provide a little more strength and to keep panels from blowing out as others have commented.

Great product for the priceVery nice awning. You will find that it appears sturdier once you assembled and installed it on the wall. It does exactly what I expected it to do to keep the water away and handled the heavy winds and held up fine to remain attached to the house.

So far so good!Desperate to find something suitable for my bedroom windows to block out the glare of the sun, I chose it. It was so easy to install that I had no trouble getting it assembled where I wanted and found that it really perfect. Do a gerat job for blocking out the annoying sunlight, and held up fine during a recent rainstorm with heavy rain.

Classy looking canopy.I bought this for my back door never considering the slope would block the screen door from opening. I installed it on the access door for my garage. Very easy to assemble. It comes with fasteners for a brick wall mine is frame. I purchased set screws something to consider before you install yours.

Excellent overhead weather deflector.Other than the half-assed installation bolts that come with it, it is doing the job I want covering the man door to my shop eliminating snow and water down my back. If it had come with lags I would have rated it a five.

Great protectionI use this to protect the entrance to my basement from the weather (rain and snow). It keeps the drain at the bottom of the stairs from being overrun with water. Not too difficult to install--better if you have a helper.

Need additional support.Arrived in time. Product is very light. High wind will blow it away. Easy to assemble and install. I added additional support on top frame. That means I made 2 extra holes and used my own 4inch screws to add stronger hold in the middle top of the frame.

I do love this and it seems to be fulfilling its purposeI do love this and it seems to be fulfilling its purpose. I took off one star b/c the guy who helped me install it had to go the hardware store for something like 'toggle-bolts' and made the comment that the ones included were too short and the company could have easily included a few options for securing it to aluminum or concrete (something like that).

Surprisingly sturdy once mounted.This is so lightweight and easy to put together. It only weighs about 3 lbs. When you put it together it will be very flimsy. I honestly thought I would be sending it back. But, after you mount it to the house, it is surprisingly secure. Even so I waited until after a few good storms to review it. It has held up well. It's so great to be covered when trying to get in while it's raining out.

It is easier to put together if after putting the two plastic sheets together, put one side on the ground and drop the sheets with front and back rods down onto the side. then add the second side from the top.

Works great looks good still held up strong after a couple of storms no issues.My wife loves this over our front door, neighbors like the style (we where worried some thing would be said, so far all positive though) need to get the right anchoring system for what you are putting it on we need two types for our install one up top and one set to hold the bottom in. Great choice has already been through storms a winds with no issues.

Looks nice, reasonable price and functional!Hard to install by myself. The compression bolts that came with it did NOT work at all. I had to go to the hardware store and buy other. I have only had it up two weeks. No rain yet to see if it leaks. I am very pleased at the way it looks and it does not yet budge or wiggle in the winds. All in all a good value thus far for the money. I will post back if it does not hold up in the rain. I put it over a back garage door directly into the stucco.UPDATE. 05/02/18=It works!!! No leaks, sturdy and beautiful. So far withstanding rain and wind with ease. I so recommend this product. Awkward to put up but well worth the effort. I just might buy more for the slider door in the back.UPDATE 07/01/18-YES,it was a pain to put up and the bolts did not work for my stucco home but this is one of my best purchases. This little awning has withstood rain, wind and heat. Although it does not promote shade, since it is clear, it actually provides shade. You see since it is so high up it collects a fine layer of dust, just enough to provide shade. I am so glad I purchased this product. It looks so nice too.

Exactly what I needed.The windows on either end of the house have no eave protection, which means every time we have a night time rainstorm I have to haul myself out of bed, take out the window fan and shut the window or everything inside gets soaked. Not comfortable during a warm night, and we prefer fresh air to air conditioning. I installed this awning yesterday, and right on queue we had a downpour at 3AM during an unusually warm October night. I stayed in bed, went back to sleep, nary a drop of water found its way in. Perfect. Tonight we expect torrential rain and 50-60 mph winds; if it passes that test I'll be back to rate this five stars.A couple of installation hints: It's a little awkward to assemble by oneself, but a great help was to spray WD-40 along the panel edges, which then slid easily into the center bracket. I know they recommend installing on masonry, but using 3" lag screws (you can't use a screwdriver, absolutely a socket wrench) after reinforcing the window frame trim seems to make it pretty solid. I had to use a ladder, so I anchored the awning first with one screw in the upper left bracket, letting it hang sideways. Moving the ladder to the other side, I was still able to grab the right bracket and attach it, then moving the ladder again to finish the 1st side. A little awkward for one person installation, but very do-able.Addendum: I came back to rate this 5 stars - while last night's rainstorm wasn't as windy as predicted, there was a lot of rain with some noisy gusts and the awning held firm. Other than some wind blown water on either side of the windowsill, for the most part it remained dry. Very satisfied with no reason to rate less than 5.Addendum #2: Two nights ago we had tropical storm wind gusts topping 60 MPH - that was enough to pop out one of the panels. Not a surprise, this product is not advertised to withstand that kind of weather. I took it down, put it back together and this time I ran a bead of silicone sealant along each side which should be enough reinforcement. I'll stick with the 5 star rating.

Mounting on vinyl sidingIt was a bit flimsy until I mounted it on the wall, then it stiffened up pretty good. Let's see how it holds up to Michigan winds and snow loads. I made up my own mounting blocks for mounting on 4" vinyl siding. See pics...

Polycarbonate also provides 99% UV protection even when clear and does not fade, discolor, or weaken when exposed the elements over time. These should last for many years. I haven't purchased one yet, but am about to. I have been researching awnings and this seems the best bet for looks, price, ease of installation and durability. I probably will not buy this exact awning because I am looking for a bracket with a more traditional iron scroll style. But I wanted to counterbalance to the earlier review that dismissed this product because it was "plastic". Search "polycarbonate roofing reviews" and you will know in under one minute if you want this or not.
