Great for controlled heat cooking, a little slow to boil but highly recommendedbought two of these lightweight backpacker style stoves for a 6 day motorcycle trip, one 6800W and the other 3500W. The 6800W stove can boil a liter of water in about 2 minutes (without wind), but I think it's too hot for frying, so I use this one for frying because I can control the temperature, but it takes 3-4 minutes to boil a liter of water, so I only use the 6800W stove for quick boils and prefer the 3500W stove for cooking/frying because it has better temperature control. As for gas consumption, I used both stoves, using a small 227g butane bottle (attached with the included attachment), for 6 days, cooking twice a day and boiling water when needed, and now have about a third of the gas left. I originally brought an extra bottle (just in case), but now know that one bottle is enough for a week, which saves space in the backpack. One thing to note though, if using first thing on a wet/foggy morning, if condensation occurs in the nozzle, the butane will evaporate (it creates an almost invisible vapor-like cloud), and if you light it immediately, the butane, hydrogen, and oxygen will all burn, creating a huge yellow flame that is quite dangerous in a tent. Luckily, I've only had this happen to me once, and that was outdoors. This is not a design flaw in the stove, just a scientific issue that every camper should be aware of. You're burning pressurized gas, and the risk of a fireball like mine might only be once in a lifetime, but the risk is still there. To minimise the risk: 1) always put it back in the plastic box provided overnight 2) when turning on the gas, don't light it if there's any visible steam 3) don't light it for the first time inside a tent (if there's a lot of condensation/humid air) If I could only take one stove, I think I'd prefer this 3500W stove to the 6800W one, even though it takes twice as long to boil water, purely because it's easier to cook at a better controlled temperature, and I'd rather wait a few extra minutes for a brew than put up with eating burnt food, because I'm not Gordon Ramsay ;-) As for advice, if you only want one stove or are on a budget, then buy this, not the hotter one. If you're on a budget and have room on your backpack/bike, then buy two stoves for two completely different purposes.

Small and powerful indeed.I like how it packs up. It fits easily into a backpack and doesn't take up much room. It's well made and will handle quite a bit of traveling.

Easy to set upFantastic, the only downside is that the box is super small and exquisite, but it is a hassle to open. It is easy to connect to the two spare cylinders and convenient to use. Definitely recommend

One of my favorite gas stovesThis 5800W camping gas stove is a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts. It is a portable, windproof stove that folds easily, making it perfect for camping, hiking, fishing or picnicking. It is easy to light and suitable for all weather conditions.

Great little stove, free to use once you collect the wood.Great little stove, free to use once you collect the wood. I have the latest version, it is much sturdier to put together than the previous model, I'm glad I bought the large instead of the small, and it's not too heavy for me. Some people say how it's heavy, I don't understand! It unfolds and collapses like a dream, and the box is big enough. Make sure you have plenty of dry wood (preferably cut small) because it burns wood and it burns very well, which suits me, I cook with an iron pot, and it's perfect for that. It's not the kind of thing you can light up and walk away, because you have to keep adding wood to it. I have a wood burning stove, which is easy to adjust for me, and the small pallet of cut wood is ideal, but it burns very quickly. I don't like to rely on just one thing, so I also have my Coleman gas burner. My advice is to use heavy pans and kettles if you can carry them, because they are very hot for a lightweight device. I'm very happy with my stove, I'm ordering another one! Not for snowflakes! Update, I did some adverts about the mods, the large grill that catches the embers at the bottom is a bit wide and will let the embers fall, the simple solution was to cut the grid grate of a disposable grill to the right size to put it in (it can stay there when folded up) As mentioned before, this fire burns very hot and the flames lick upwards, too hot for gentle cooking, I cut 2 bars with slots that go through the top and then cut a 3mm steel plate a little larger than the top, for me this transformed the fire, the plate gets very hot and the fire doesn't burn as fast, perfect for frying, a small kettle does just as fast. I like to use a hot pan for stir frying sometimes but also like a more gentle frying etc, so my plate solves this problem. I understand that for a backpacker all my clutter is too much. Horses are used for courses! If you want to cook for free, just put in the effort, face it, it's more fun!

Good value for moneyHave used it to cook a pot of chili and sit around a fire and it's a great set of tools. Very easy to light, it has lots of updraft and gives off a lot of heat. The front door is hard to open when it's hot and seems to stick. The metal and fittings get too hot to handle with bare hands so wear sturdy fire resistant gloves. The product description says it can be used for backpacking. It's a little heavy if you're doing a multi-day backpacking trip but if only out for a day and don't have other gear or a lot of gear to carry then it's fine. We went canoe camping so this would be ideal. Overall a great product and great value for money.

Perfect fit in my arsenalThis is an absolutely fantastic piece of kit for day walks and overnight stops, it is really useful, I have used it to boil water for tea/coffee, to cook breakfast and also heated up pre cooked sealed stews for dinner so I can vouch for it, I have pushed this firebox to its limits and it has never failed, it is very light and packs down very small, I have adjusted the top grill to go deeper into the firebox and is more solid, I like that I cut 4 grooves with a grinder, about 5mm deep so the grill can fit in, it is much better than the folding fireboxes I have used as this firebox can be used as a small wood burner, the ventilation is great, open the door, add coals, put the wood in, close the door, small and compact, can burn a lot of sticks and wood, but prepare the kindling first, definitely worth the £27 or so I paid for it. If you buy this kit you will not be disappointed

Very happy so far! This is a great kit so far. Cheaper than fireboxes etc and other expensive brands. Would be nice if it was titanium. Not too heavy though, comes with box and folds up. Already had the blue clear film off, I've seen in other camping videos that you usually have to remove the whole thing. This one has it off! I expect it will warp a bit with use but they all do anyway. Will update if any issues arise... Note: I cut my finger grabbing the edge of the open front door while using the stove, the edge is sharp and burred. Not a big cut but I would recommend filing the edges of the hole.

Easy-to-use kitBought for car camping. Nice and simple. Simple controls - hot or slow. Easy to clean. It does need some sort of windscreen - either buy one or make one yourself. Gas bottles are expensive now - best to shop around and buy in bulk. Looks like I could buy one for a weekend in the Lake District. Breakfast, dinner and tea - but best to take two just in case.

The rice cooker is good, but the kettle boils water slowlyCompared to a cartridge gas range, this is a much better range. I had a Coleman before so I may not have made a good choice overall. This range is easy to clean and has a gentle fire which is great for cooking. Boil potatoes, sauté vegetables, fry meats, and cook most anything. Very convenient for truck loading and feels much safer than a cartridge gas range which can leak easily.

Not suitable for webbingLooks like a nice solid product, but it's too big to fit in the utility bag on the webbing, so if you're thinking of buying it for field practice, I'd recommend looking for something smaller

Butane and LPG connectionsPerfect, consistent with the description. The quality is as expected for the price and the intended use (emergency and camping). When camping we use canned LPG, but at home we plan to use the LPG cylinder in the barbecue. Recommended purchase.

Good productI left a bad review before but later found out it was the can. After a friend sent me a pack of different products, I switched brands and the product was fine. The gas flows evenly and ignites easily. So it was right to come and revise the review. They also contacted me but have not responded yet, but they are worried that the product quality is not good enough after my bad review, so they want to provide support.
