This shelf has decent storage space. Each tier is 120cm in length and 32cm in width. The height between tiers is 35cm. As a result, these are versatile and ideal for the storage of books, toys, clothes or even to display artifacts and decor. The assembled 5-tier shelf occupies a space of 120 x 34 x 178 cm (L x W x H) and should be placed on the floor against a straight wall. Anchors are provided to secure the shelf to a wall, and I would highly recommend that you use them.
The assembly process is easy and straightforward, but a second pair of hands are needed at times. All the screws and components needed were present, plus an Allen key. I would also recommend that you take note of where the X shaped support attach to the poles, and make sure these are on the same side as the wall anchors (i.e. at the back). This was not made explicitly clear in the instructions, and I accidentally assembled them on opposite sides –thankfully the holes for the X-shaped support were both on the same side! The shelves themselves are pretty solid and stable once assembled and anchored, though before anchoring it is a bit wobbly. If you don’t want to anchor the shelving unit to a wall, make sure it is weighed down appropriately. Its metal frame and the shelf boards can sustain a good amount of weight.
I am very happy with the quality and appearance of the shelf, as it matched well with my room decoration.
It is worth mentioning that the shelf boards are lightweight but seem pretty strong. This may not be your choice if you are seeking solid wood furniture.
